This green smoothie is loved by most of the people who have tasted it as my guests, friends, family members, children and neighbours. This is a very basic and simple recipe using only three basic local ingredients available all year round which I made from day one. The only thing I did in this recipe was to replace plain drinking water with coconut water and the magic happened. It was much appreciated than its previous version and instantly became an all time favourite specially with my son, Jagjot. I am so glad he started appreciating green smoothie. Thanks to the coconut water which adds a divine mild sweet flavour to this nutritious drink.
BASIC GREEN SMOOTHE
MAKES APPROXIMATELY 500 ML
Bananas are one of the best sources of potassium, an essential mineral for maintaining normal blood pressure and heart function. Coconut water is an excellent source of manganese, phosphorus and potassium. While spinach is known to stabilise blood sugar. When blended together this sweet and nourishing drink has a unique taste of it's own and will soon become one of your favourites.
- 300 ml coconut water
- 200 gm baby spinach
- 3 medium fully ripe bananas
1 Wash and prepare the ingredients.
2 First put the spinach in a blender and add a little coconut water and blend well till it becomes smooth. Now add the bananas and blend again. Now add the rest of the coconut water and blend for the last time.
You can add a little less or a little more coconut water to get the desired consistency.
